Greener Grounds playing at Animas CityDenver-based Greener Grounds is bringing jamtronica to town this weekend at Animas City Theatre, 128 E. College Drive.

They’ll be joined by Digital Beat Down, and The Monagahela will get the night going.

The five-piece band, made up of Joe Shur on lead guitar, Mathew Buelt on rhythm guitar, Jay Rieder on bass, Roland Hansenon keys and synth, and AJ Gillman on drums, blend many styles in their music – from psychedelic funk and rock to trance fusion and break beats.

St. Mark’s first concert in series will hit you with a little jazzSt. Mark’s Recital Series to kick off tonight

3rd Ave. Arts will start the 12th season of its St. Mark’s Recital Series at 7 p.m. today (Friday) at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 910 East Third Ave. in Durango.

The ensemble Given,which includes pianist Kristen Chen, cellist Trina Hodgson and flutist Kathryn Shaffer, will present a jazz-influenced concert featuring music by Russian composer Nikolai Kapustin, who is best known as a jazz pianist. Also on the program are tangos by Argentenian composer Astor Piazzolla and music by Czech composer Bohuslav Martinu.
