Things to do in and around Durango

Record collectors, get readySpending a Saturday morning digging through crates of albums, looking for your personal holy grail is hard to beat. And, except for maybe old books, nothing smells quite as good as an old album sleeve.

So vinyl lovers, rejoice – and get ready to wake up early to line up for the Durango Record Collectors Swap Meet 2016 on Saturday morning at the VFW Hall, 1550 Main Ave.

From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., you can browse to your heart’s content and maybe leave with a treasure or two (or three ... or a whole tote bag full).

Admission is $5, and you can get a ticket at Southwest Sound.

For more information, call 259-5896.

A One Night StandDurango’s sexiest party of the year will be Saturday night, and you’re invited. Four Corners Alliance for Diversity presents A One Night Stand. Fifteen dollars gets you into the party at the Exhibit Hall at the La Plata County Fairgrounds. And once you’re inside, there will be a benefit auction of night stands – get it? One night stand”? – created by local artists.

The benefit helps Four Corners Alliance for Diversity continue to provide educational services, programs and community outreach for our area.

The party will start at 7, and there will also be burlesque dancers to keep you entertained, along with appetizers and drinks.

Tickets are available online at http://bit.ly/1NlaZQA.
