100 years ago: Classified for-sale advertisements included, a “boy’s saddle pony,” a few cars of fine timothy hay” and “one ’37 Buick touring car, good-as-new condition.”

75 years ago: Fishing tackle manufacturers would be able to continue to produce their “wares” until the end of June, ruled the war department board. Durango retail dealers would not be affected, “except that more tackle will be difficult if not impossible to obtain in the future.”

50 years ago: Three narrow gauge coaches from the Durango-Silverton train were retired to the Colorado Railroad Museum in Denver.

25 years ago: Police cited a 17-year-old boy for driving with someone on the hood of his car in the 700 block of Seventh Street.
