In regards to the article about Fox Fire Farms affordable housing and restriction on the deeds, (Times, June 24, 2016) what was left out is that the owners with Colorado Housing, Inc. could never qualify for Habitat for Humanity homes.
Also, we built these homes, not volunteers like Habitat. We did not get help and I pay full price for my mortgage like anyone else out there. I spent over a year every weekend and many weekdays building my home with my hands. I should be able to sell my home to anyone I want. And let's be clear here, our homes are still affordable housing, you can't find 3 bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths anywhere for $200,000.
