Durango volleyball star Gabi Razma earns top awards at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology

Senior earns school’s first all-region award
Durango’s Gabi Razma starred on Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology’s volleyball team for four years and earned all-region and all-conference honors after her senior season.

Gabi Razma wrapped up a decorated collegiate volleyball career with some impressive awards.

Razma, a 2014 graduate of Durango High School, competed for NCAA Division III Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, Indiana. A 5-foot-10 libero who studies Biomedical Engineering while playing for the Fightin’ Engineers, Razma was named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Defensive Most Valuable Player on Wednesday for the second time in her career. Thursday, she was named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association All-Great Lakes Region Honorable Mention Team. She is the first player in Rose-Hulman history to earn an award from the AVCA. She also set school records with 46 digs in a single match and 2,655 in her career.

Razma is a four-time All-HCAC selection. She won her defensive MVP awards during her freshman and senior seasons while also maintaining all-academic status as a volleyball and track and field athlete. She is a nine-time event winner in track.

Razma ranks 12th in all of Division III in digs with 662 and 14th in digs per set at 5.91. She helped lead the team to a 20-12 overall record and a trip to the conference tournament championship game for the first time since 2011. The team’s record was its best since 2012.

Along with her career record number of digs, Razma also recored 170 serving aces and 28 kills.
