Hannah Primack celebrated her 90th birthday in style in January with her friends from the Mah Jong Mavens.

Having missed a month of birthdays because I was on medical leave, we’ll start fresh with birthdays starting Feb. 1.

Here’s hoping the January celebrants had great birthdays, and that these February folks will, too – Sally Bradley, Scott McCool, Mike Sarti, Jacquie Caldwell, Kate Errett, Grace Jensen, Mary Kay Lambert, Robert Whitson, Eli Buck, Lon Erwin, Ricci Dawson, Marilyn Farley, Karen Keller, Suzanne Parker, Christine Phillips, Kristi Householder, Emily McCardle, Madeline Shaline, Dick Pearson, Maryann Fassett, Debbie Chilcoat, Carol Treat, Bill Phillips, Loretta Helms, Ann Lowe, Jane Steel, Wyatt Manson, Maggie Gardner, Kelly Winter, Devonne Vialpando-Kinery, Melinda Johnson, Gary Steinbach, Eric Nedergaard, Miriam Bonskowske, Joey Kloepfer, Lydia Orlowski, Lynne Rudolph, David Wylie, Bailey Carlson, Jane Carman, Dave Schank, Nancy Edwards, Peggy Hoffman, Jerry Maxey, Jo Etta Galbraith, Randy Puskas, Susan Marwin, Rebecca Bowers, Carey Vicenti, Karen Overington and Soren Krichke.

One January birthday cannot go unheralded. Hannah Primack celebrated her 90th birthday in style at a party hosted by her Mah Jong Maven friends, which is a spinoff from game day fundraisers for Durango Friends of the Arts.

They gathered at the Cottonwood Inn for soups, song, silliness and birthday cake. The birthday “girl” received lots of gifts, cards and flowers along with a balloon bouquet from her daughter, Diane McCarthy – and of course, an afternoon of mahjong.

Joining in on the festivities were Sonya Bayley, Sue Benton, Judy Fairchild, Susie Fisher, Judy Griffith, Gemma Kavanagh, Karren Little, Peeb Lupia, Nancy Macho, Joanie Peterson, Christine Rachlin, Lorraine Sufficool and Marjie Wilson.

The pressure’s on to be romantic for these couples who are celebrating both their anniversaries and Valentine’s Day this month – Eric and Debbe Speck, Alan and Pat Stelter, Clark Lagow and Sandy Newman, Thomas and Marna Burnett, Scott and Julie McCallister and Randy and Jeanine Puskas.
