Tuesdays, 2 p.m.: Baby Storytime. For infants to 18 months. Music, stories, fingerplays, counting rhymes and playtime.

Thursdays, 10:30 a.m.: Toddler Storytime. Stories, songs, rhymes and other fun activities for children ages 2-3. Storytime lasts about 30 minutes, with a craft afterwards.

Fridays, 10:30 a.m.: Preschool Storytime. Stories, songs, rhymes and other activities for children ages 3-5.

Saturdays, 8:30 a.m.: Demonstration Garden Tour with a docent. Weather permitting, there will be a docent on duty at the gardens behind Durango Public Library.

Sept. 3, 6 p.m.: Durango’s Own Olga Little presented by Andy Gulliford. Olga Little was the only female jackpacker who ran a string of burros carrying food, supplies and dynamite into remote high-altitude mines.

Sept. 4, 10:30 a.m.: Early Literacy Playdate. Explore early literacy and learning through hands-on sensory activities. For children ages 0-5.

Sept. 4, 2 p.m.: Great Garden Series: For the Love of Herbs Camilla Potter. Learn about what herbs are good for different applications, Learn to make pesto, with a tasting.

Sept. 4, 4 p.m.: Teen Time: Ice Cream Sundaes. Activities for middle and high schoolers. Choose a flavor, make some ice cream then top it off with sweet treats.

Sept. 4, 6 p.m.: Durango Diaries: Survival Stories. Locals who have survived natural disasters or being lost in the wilderness share how they survived and what the experience was like.

Sept 6 3:30 p.m.: STEAM Lab: Lego Club. Build, explore, create and problem-solve with STEAM-based activities. Create and engineer with the library’s Lego collection.

Sept. 10, 6 p.m.: Adult Board Game Night. (For ages 17+)

Sept. 11, 10:30 a.m.: Fired Up Stories. Preschool children and families join fire fighters and EMTs from the Durango Fire and Rescue Authority for stories and safety tips.

Sept. 11, 4 p.m.: Teen Time: Trivia. A selection of trivia based on books, pop culture, science and more. Prizes for first and second place winners.

Sept. 13, 11 a.m.: Meet inventor Nikola Tesla. History comes alive when Doug Mishler, Chautauqua scholar, performs as the inventor.

Sept. 13, 3:30 p.m.: STEAM Lab: Stay Afloat. Build a boat, designing it to carry as much weight as possible, then test the designs on the patio.

Sept. 14, 10:30 a.m.: Sensory Storytime. Designed for children on the autism spectrum and families who are looking for a smaller, more adaptive library experience.

Sept. 17, 1:30 p.m.: Technology and Scams: Staying Safe on the Internet.

Sept. 18 4 p.m.: Teen Time: Tie Dye. Color clothing, a bag or anything else that is cotton. Tutorials for different designs will be available. Bring an item or two to tie dye. Some shirts will be available. Wear clothes that can get stained.

Sept. 18, 6 p.m.: Durango Diaries: Historical Crimes. From a shootout on Main Avenue to interesting crimes from the early 1900s, historians share some of the most interesting crimes from Durango’s past.

Sept 20, 3:30 p.m.: STEAM Lab: Circuitry. Experiment with circuits and conductivity. Make a magic wand that lights up, or draw a picture and add an LED light.

Sept. 25, 4 p.m.: Teen Time: Game Café. An afternoon of gaming and technology. Select board games, a Wii and a rotating coding/robotics station will be set up for all to use.

Sept. 26, 6:30 p.m.: Author Daniel C. Guiet: “Scholars of Mayhem.” A reading and book-signing will take place during the event, which is co-hosted by Maria’s Bookshop.

Sept. 27, 3:30 p.m.: STEAM Lab: Magnetic Slime. Make slime with magnetic properties and test it out with magnets.

Sept. 30, 3:30 p.m.: Library Community Champion Award reception. Celebrate the 2019 Library Community Champions Nancy Peake and Maile Kane.

Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10:30 a.m.: Groove & Grow. Music, finger-plays, games and more for infants and toddlers and their caregivers.

Wednesdays, 10:30 a.m.: Little Readers Storytime. Stories, songs, activities and crafts for infants through preschoolers.

Wednesdays, 3:30 p.m.: Crazy Eights Math Club (K-2). A recreational after-school math club.

Fridays, 3:30 p.m.: After School Awesome. Snacks, stories, history, art, science, outdoor and life skills activities. Kindergarten through fifth grade.

Every third Tuesday, 3:30 p.m.: Robotics. Explore the world of robots and coding with Spherobots, Ozobots and Cubelets.

Wednesdays, 3:30 p.m.: Code Club. Learn how to code in Java, Scratch and more with online resources such as Codeacademy and Khan Academy.

Thursdays, 3:30 p.m.: Pop-Up Programs. The library provides the stuff and teens make up the program..

Fridays, 3:30 p.m.: Food Fridays. The library will put together after-school food programs to help young people learn about budgeting, food nutrition and making creative and diverse dishes.

Note: Those interested in classes should join as a walk-in. Cost is $6 for individual classes and punch-passes are available for a discount.

Mondays, 9 a.m.: Yoga-lates. A combination of yoga and Pilates.

Tuesdays, 9 a.m.: Yoga for all. A class about proper alignment and modifications. All levels are welcome.

Thursdays, 8 a.m.: Yoga flow. Learn about postures that create yoga sequences.

Sept. 9, 10:30 a.m.: Spanish Conversation Hour. An hour of conversation en Español. Practice Spanish in an informal setting. All ages and language levels welcome.

Sept. 28, 11 a.m.: Short Film Screening. Durango-based filmmaker Sean Owen, who won Best Native American Documentary, will present his film, “Tribal Radio,” which tells the story of the Southern Ute Indian Tribe staff members who established one of the first tribal radio stations in the U.S.
