Artist reception today at bank

Pine River Valley Bank in Bayfield will hold a reception for Kelly Black for its final event of 2014 for the Community Artist Program. Black's works represent classic turn-of-the-century realism and depictions of the old West.

Black's show is on display through Jan. 2 at the bank's Bayfield headquarters.

The reception is from 4:30 to 6 p.m. today at 301 N. Commerce Drive.

Pine River Shares holding monthly potluck tomorrow

The Pine River Shares Winter Solstice Community Potluck will be Saturday, Dec. 20, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the old mid school gym on South Street in Bayfield.

Everyone from Vallecito to Arboles is invited. Participants are urged to bring a potluck dish to share, such as a casserole, side dish, or dessert, and their own table settings. They are invited to donate a toy for a child. Gifts appropriate for adults, teens and tweens also are needed. They don't have to be new, but they should be in good condition.

Gift items will be set up in the cafeteria. Kids will be able to pick and wrap something for a parent or caregiver. Parents can pick and wrap something for their child.

The monthly potlucks are about giving and receiving. If you can't bring anything, come anyway. There will be clothing and non-perishable food items available for people to take.

Santa will be at breakfast at The Patio

Kids are welcome to wear their pajamas from 9 to 11 a.m. tomorrow at The Patio to join Santa Claus for breakfast. Pictures will be available for $5 each, with proceeds benefitting the Mt. Allison Go Getters 4H Club. All are welcome to this family event.

Road Runner reducing holiday schedule

Road Runner Transit buses will not be running Dec. 25 and 26 and Jan. 1 and 2. Regular service will resume Dec. 29, 30, 31, 31 and Jan. 5. Dial A Ride service will be available from 12:30 to 8:30 p.m. Jan. 26 and Jan. 2.
