Why does an editorial have to be political?

Recent complaints about “irrelevant” editorials are a thinly disguised request for the Herald to return to strident, snarky, political screeds that mirror the opinions of some (not all) readers.

Why can’t we enjoy unusual or whimsical musings upon topics we don’t often consider?

Let’s relax, people. We don’t have to be angry and political every moment. Do we?
