Point of intersection
Four territories, 36 photographs and one common point of intersection. The fine art photography exhibit “Quadripoint,” which features the images of New Mexico photographers Phillip Noll Jr. and Monica Noll, explores the seasons, landscapes and elements of the Four Corners. With nine images each from Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona and Utah, the show looks at the interplay of colors, canyons, forests and directions that exists in the region. The exhibit will open Sunday with a reception from 5-7 p.m. at Substratum Gallery, 1021½ Main Ave., featuring music by pianist Lacey Black.
Blues on the rails
The Durango Blues Train, a mobile musical experience that features live blues and rock music in Durango & Silverton Narrow Gage Railroad cars, pulls out of the station on Friday and Saturday. Today’s lineup includes Big Sam’s Funky Nation, The Sugar Thieves and Kipori Woods, while Saturday features music by Gino Matteo, Johnny Long and Todd and the Fox. Visit www.durangobluestrain.com.
Micro-plays
Durango Arts Center’s fourth annual 10-Minute Play Contest drew 143 micro-plays from around the country when the call for submissions went out this winter. A committee sifted through the plays to select the top five, and a staged reading of the finalists will take place at 7 p.m. today at the Durango Arts Center. Along with a night of theater, audience members will learn the winner of the grand prize of $500, and will be able to vote for the people’s choice award. The Shrine Circus spectacle
Fire jugglers, twirling aerialists and illusionists are part of the spectacle that is the San Juan Shrine Circus. The circus will perform at 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday at the La Plata County Fairgrounds, 2500 Main Ave.
