Ashley Wells didn’t have a hitting error until the third set in leading the Fort Lewis College volleyball team to a 3-1 (25-21, 26-24, 22-25, 25-14) win over Western State on Saturday in Gunnison.
She led the Skyhawks with 17 kills and a .455 hitting percentage while also piling up a team-leading 22 digs.
Libero Jenna Kinzer had 17 digs and Ally Dell’Amico 10 for FLC (7-16, 7-8 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference).
The Skyhawks held Western State (1-22, 0-15 RMAC) to a .150 team hitting percentage, while the Mountaineers committed 12 service errors.
Both teams made eight blocks in the match.
FLC will return home to play Colorado Mesa at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Whalen Gymnasium. The Skyhawks won’t leave Durango for the remainder of the regular season, playing their last four matches at home.
