50 Years Ago: “Airman George O. Dame Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. George O. Dame Sr. of Dove Creek, Colo., has been selected for training at Ft. Benjamin Harrison, Ind., as an Air Force information specialist. The airman, a 1965 graduate of Dolroes County High School, recently completed basic training at Lackland AFB, Tex. He attended Rangely (Colo.) Junior College.”
25 years ago: “A 27-year-old Durango man was killed Thursday night after he reportedly walked in front of a bus on north U.S. Highway 550 near Needles. Scott Bradley died of massive head and internal injuries, according to Colorado State Patrol reports. The report states that Bradley stepped into the roadway from the right side of Highway 550. It did not state if he was attempting to cross the road.”
