Writing and yoga combine in retreat
Joy Kilpatrick and Rachel Turiel are teaming up to lead a writing and yoga retreat in Durango from Sept. 19 to 21.
The retreat, to be held at Inhabit, 1970 East Third Ave., will feature alternating sessions of yoga and writing designed for practitioners of any level. Turiel is a writer and blogger, and Kilpatrick is a certified yoga therapist.
The idea behind the retreat is that while yoga unifies the body and mind, writing provides a container for the wisdom.

Super Amazing show offers art for sale
The Super Amazing Art Show, an annual one-day summer show hosted by four local artists, will take place from 3 to 8 p.m. Satruday at the home of Miki Harder, 537 Jackrabbit Trail.
Harder, along with Cindy Coleman, Amy Vaclav-Felker and Elizabeth Kinahan, will fill two floors of the home with paintings, sculptures, prints, notecards and functional art.

Art meets archaeology at free presentation
The public is invited to watch a multimedia presentation created by Canyon of the Ancients’ 2014 artist in residence William Pfaff at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Anasazi Heritage Center, 27501 Highway 184, Dolores.
The free program, which features original music, photos, recorded interviews, text and more, traverses the archaeological wonders of Canyon of the Ancients National Monument.

Telluride author to hold book-signing Saturday
Telluride author Maribeth Clemente will host a meet and greet and signing of her book A Tour of the Heart: A Seductive Cycling Trip Through France from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Rochester Hotel, 726 East Second Ave.
Part memoir and part love story, the book is a romantic ode to France. It follows the journey of a travel writer searching for harmony and true love with her super-cyclist boyfriend.
