Toh-Atin Gallery will be the site Sunday for a battle royale of artists, but a steel cage match it is not.
Each of the 10 artists in question hopes to be chosen for the honor of seeing his or her artwork on the cover of this year’s Music in the Mountains program as well as all of the promotional materials that will be sent to classical music lovers nationwide. The event will serve as the official kickoff to the Music in the Mountains season and will include an auction of the 10 finalists’ works as well as intimate performances by Music in the Mountains musicians.
Calvin and Pat Story of Treasure Auction will live-auction 10 musician packages including pianist Aviram Reichert and violinist Philippe Quint for a private concert. The musicians will be packaged with caterers so bidders don’t have to come up with their own food or wash dishes.
The artwork will be silent auctioned, and the winning artwork, which is to be the 28th festival season artwork, will be auctioned off during the summer festival during the Pops Night Benefit Dinner and Concert on July 23rd The winning artist also will receive a $1,000 cash prize.
