Ignacio is on cruise control.
Ignacio High School won its 12th consecutive game with an 87-21 victory over Dolores on Thursday in Ignacio.
Clayton Jefferson led the team with 15 points, while Kelton Richmond scored 13 and Nick Herrera 10.
“We just came out sluggish, but when we got into our press it clicked,” IHS head coach Chris Valdez said.
All 12 players scored for IHS (12-0, 3-0 San Juan Basin League), which handed Dolores (4-8, 2-1 SJBL) its third consecutive loss and first in league play.
“We’re going to be playing our first five a lot more down the stretch to get them ready for the postseason,” Valdez said.
The Bobcats, ranked No. 1 in Class 2A by CHSAANow.com, played just their third home game of the season and will return to the road for their next game Feb. 7 at Nucla.
