DPD looking for two drivers in hit-and-runs

One driver leaves behind fender part in Florida Road roundabout

Durango police are looking for drivers suspected in two late-night or early morning hit-and-run incidents.

Sgt. Nick Stasi said a small, gray sedan was hit near the American Legion at East Second Avenue and Ninth Street around 10:16 p.m. Saturday. The driver’s side door was bashed in, he said.

The driver in the vehicle that hit the gray sedan fled the scene. Police do not have a description of the fleeing vehicle, Stasi said.

Another hit-and-run – this one involving only one vehicle that hit a sign in the Florida Road-Riverview Drive roundabout – occurred about 3:30 a.m. Sunday.

Stasi said police are looking for a “Jeep-type” vehicle based on a portion of a fender that fell off and was left in the roundabout.
