The Neighbors in Need Alliance, in cooperation with the City of Durango, is scheduled to install storage lockers at the south end of the Durango Transit Center property Tuesday morning. Delivery and installation of the lockers may result in temporary delays to traffic on Seventh Street between Camino del Rio and Main Avenue.
The Lockers Pilot Program, managed by NINA under agreement with the City of Durango, will provide secure storage for up to six unhoused individuals who meet requirements established by NINA. The Pilot Program is a component of the recently adopted City of Durango and La Plata County Strategic Plan on Homelessness.
A ceremony celebrating the locker initiative will be held by NINA at noon Friday at the Transit Center. All are welcome to attend the ceremony and learn more about the program. Questions about the program should be directed to Caroline Kinser with NINA at caroline@mydurango.net
