La Plata Quilters Guild will meet at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the La Plata County Fairgrounds Extension Building, 2500 Main Ave.
Holli Pfau and Lisa Laughlin from the Outreach Committee will discuss “The what, why and how of charity quilting.” In 2019, the guild donated more than 198 handmade items, including 102 quilts to hospice, veterans, Blue & Gold Star Moms, foster children, the Safe House and 96 dog beds to La Plata Humane Society, Annie’s Orphans and Lisa Parker’s Puppies. This program will jump-start the guild’s efforts for the year
A group sew day will take place March 14.
Meetings are open to the general public. Community members may attend up to two meetings before joining. Membership is $30 per year.
