Kampgrounds of America recently announced that it will offer camping on May 12 for $20 at qualifying campgrounds as part of the 15th annual Care Camps Big Weekend promotion, which supplies funding for its Care Camps program for children diagnosed with cancer.
The promotion, which includes the Durango KOA campground, allows guests who camp for the standard rate the night before – on Friday, May 11 – to camp at a discounted rate the night of May 12. All proceeds collected May 12 will go to support the Care Camps program.
The Care Camps program provides medically-supervised summer camps for children diagnosed with cancer at no cost – to give them the opportunity to experience the outdoors and connect with other campers who are also battling cancer. Treatments are provided on-site according to each children’s needs.
KOA offers 125 Care Camps locations in the United States and Canada.
