Demolition of the old Ignacio Shur Valu started last Friday with take-down of the old SUCAP building just to the north. The new building is scheduled to open in 2015.
The project continued Monday with the rear of the building being razed.
Wells Liquor South and KD's Caffe Latte, two nearby businesses, remain open during the reconstruction.
Farmer's Fresh Market is being built by the McClanahan and Lee families of Ignacio. The new grocery is scheduled to open in 2015.
