Mesa Verde National Park will open the Morefield winter trails for a special moonlight event from 6 to 10 p.m. Jan. 6 at the Morefield campground.
The event is free and open to all ages. Trails will be open for snowshoeing and cross-country skiing.
Participants will be able to follow glow sticks to find complementary hot beverages and a campfire. Snowshoes will be available to be checked out, and rangers will have telescope viewing, conditions permitting, and storytelling.
The Morefield campground is 4 miles past the park entrance on the right-hand side. Parking will be at the Morefield Store.
The event is subject to cancellation because of weather conditions. Participants should dress warmly and bring a headlamp or flashlight.
