Durango Folklorico launching new classes
Ballet Folklorico de Durango will offer new classes for youth and adults in September, and the cultural educational dance group is now accepting new members.
The group will host an open house and registration event from 2-3:30 p.m. on Saturday at Fort Lewis College’s El Centro de Muchos Colores.
Classes for youth ages 5-17 will begin Sept. 8 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at El Centro, in the FLC Student Union.
Adult community members or FLC students are invited to join the Ballet Folklorico de Durango club, which meets from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesdays at El Centro.
Ballet Folklorico was founded in 1996 and exists today as an educational partnership between the Durango Education Center and El Centro at FLC.

DAC holding play auditions Wednesday
The Durango Arts Center is holding auditions for two upcoming productions on Wednesday at the DAC Theater, 802 East Second Ave.
Auditions for Arthur Miller’s “All My Sons” – a collaboration between DAC and Fort Lewis College, directed by Mona Wood-Patterson – will take place from 6-7 p.m.
Directors are seeking one actress, aged 50-60s, to play the role of Kate. The performance opens on Oct. 17.
Auditions for Jon Robin Baitz’ “Other Desert Cities,” a collaboration between DAC and Merely Players, also directed by Wood-Patterson, will take place from 7-9 p.m.
Directors are looking for one actress, age 50-70s, to play the role of Silva, and one actor, age 60-70s, to play the role of Lyman. Performance opens on Feb. 21.
