BHS volleyball improves to 2-0

Wolverines rally from 2-down to win in 5 at Cortez

Bayfield High School is 2-0 on the volleyball court.

After a season-opening, straight-sets sweep over San Juan High School on Aug. 30 in Blanding, Utah, the Class 3A Wolverines played a little closer to home and beat Class 4A Montezuma-Cortez in five.

BHS (2-0) rallied from two games down to beat the bigger school 22-25, 23-25, 25-21, 27-25, 15-6, according to an email from first-year head coach Terene Foutz. No additional information was given.

Bayfield will play Saturday at the Intermountain League Pre-League Tournament in Alamosa, then will host Piedra Vista on Sept. 10 in its home opener.
