50 years ago: “It’s August. The frost is on the hollyhocks; no pumpkins yet. The low temperature this morning in Durango was 36. Valley residents were probably a little cooler. W.W. (Billy) Davies recorded 37 degrees last night and says that’s ‘pretty near cold enough to hibernate.’”
25 years ago: “A Pagosa Springs woman said her husband pushed her against an opened door and, as she fell, the gun she was holding in her left hand discharged in its holster, killing him March 3.” She was given three years of probation.
