I support the 1A sales tax increase for lots of reasons.
Because I want to drive around Durango without having to watch out for potholes.
Because parks and recreation is a key economic driver for the city, not an expense.
Because it costs a lot more to fix roads after they break.
Because I want a plow to clear my roads.
Because we’ve become dependent on oil and gas taxes, which are declining.
Because only purchased goods are taxed, and I control what I buy.
Because a stitch in time saves nine.
Because the city needs funds to keep Durango a great place to live and to visit.
