Manna soup kitchen will host a connected parenting class taught by Rachel Turiel from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesdays – Sept. 25, Oct. 2, 9 and 16 – in Manna’s upstairs conference room, 1100 Avenida Del Sol.
The class is geared toward parents, grandparents and caregivers of children, and will explore empowering youths to recognize and speak what’s true for them, while offering adults the tools to hear them through.
Topics will include understanding challenging behaviors and how to respond, navigating disagreements, creating willingness and cooperation, replacing blame and judgment with connection and understanding emotion in a way that supports resilience.
Cost is $120. A 20% discount is available for couples. Scholarships are also available.
