There were two large power outages and several dozen smaller ones across the county Friday night and early Saturday morning.
The rainstorm may have caused some of the outages, said Indiana Reed, a spokeswoman for LPEA.
“There was weather, there was wind,” she said.
The largest outage was in the Durango West area, where 726 homes lost power at about 5 a.m. Saturday. Crews fixed the broken piece of equipment and restored power by about 7:30 a.m., according to a statement from LPEA.
The equipment could have been damaged by the rainstorm, but Reed couldn’t say exactly how the equipment was broken.
About 160 homes in the Edgemont Highlands and Durango Hills subdivisions lost power at about 9:30 p.m. Friday night after a tree limb fell through a power line on Florida Road (County Road 240). Power was restored at about 1 a.m. Saturday morning.
The smaller outages hit a few homes at a time, she said.
