The 2020 Winter Business Commuter Challenge invites local organizations to see whose employees can walk, roll, bike, bus or carpool the most between Monday and Feb 7.
This friendly competition pits organizations against each other to vie for the Snowflake Trophy. Employees earn points for each sustainable commute, errand or social outing. The business with the most points wins.
Sign up for the challenge no later than Friday by emailing Imogen.Ainsworth@DurangoGov.org. Include the organization name, number of employees and team leader. For more information, call Ainsworth at 375-5061.
The Commuter Challenge culminates with Winter Bike to Work Day, presented Feb. 7 by the city of Durango. Hardy clean commuters may visit 1027 Main Ave. (outside Studio &) from 7 to 9 a.m. to enjoy snacks from Bread and coffee from Carver Brewing Co. and Desert Sun Coffee Roasters. There will also be free bike tune-ups from Pedal the Peaks and a prize drawing.
