100 years ago: Shipments of cattle to outside markets continued to increase as warm weather arrived in Durango.
75 years ago: There was an announcement printed that said: “The military railway service eventually would enroll from 30,000 to 35,000 officers and men in actual theaters of war.”
50 years ago: The District Attorney’s Office issued an alert to Durango businesses of checks signed with the name “Maude L. Bohner.” The checks were fraudulently written and passed out in the Durango area by Maude Bohner’s son, C. Fred Bohner, who was being held in county jail.
25 years ago: The Ute Mountain Tribe reached an agreement that would possibly lead to a casino opening in Ignacio sometime midsummer.
