75 years ago: Increased physical training was approved by the state board of agriculture for all men at Colorado state colleges to meet a new standard introduced by the War Department.
50 years ago: A Durango girl competed for the title of Miss Rodeo Colorado at the Fiesta Grounds.
25 years ago: A controlled burn went out of control south of Durango near the New Mexico state line and burned between 10 to 15 acres. The fire threatened to engulf power lines and officials had to temporarily close U.S. Highway 550.
