Cancer Coalition of Southwest Colorado grateful to donors

For the past 18 years, with help from groups such as Durango’s Styles ‘N’ Stones artists, the Cancer Coalition of Southwest Colorado has been able to financially assist local residents in cancer treatment. Gas vouchers for travel and funding for non-medical expenses is available through requests and grant applications available at the Cancer Resource Center.

Because of donations from community groups, we have assisted hundreds.

Durango and La Plata County live the truth that “it takes a village” to care for its residents. The Cancer Coalition, an all-volunteer group, provides the vehicle for funding, while Community Foundation acts as fiscal agent and manages distribution of funds.

The Cancer Coalition could not exist without the helping hands of Style ‘N’ Stones jewelry artists Cindy Scolfield, Dana Wilson, Nancy Macho, Carolyn Plested, Pat Lorenzen, Nancy Conrad, Basia Daney, Sally Wingate and Susie Fisher, all of whom donated 30% of their sales from the October event to the cancer fund. We thankfully acknowledge their kindness and assistance.
