Crews will conduct work Monday and Tuesday
The Colorado Department of Transportation plans to make repairs Monday and Tuesday to the railroad crossing on U.S. Highway 550 in Hermosa.
The Colorado Department of Transportation will assist the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad with railroad crossing repairs from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday and Tuesday on U.S. Highway 550 in Hermosa, 7 miles north of Durango.
Work will include rail plank replacements, asphalt patching and painting new railroad crossing pavement markings.
Motorists may encounter intermittent lane shifts, closures and 15- to 20-minute traffic stops. Travelers are urged to follow signs and speed reductions in the work zone and be aware of flaggers, maintenance workers and heavy equipment on and near the highway.
