Progressive agenda is all about power

Sometime ago, I asked that my liberal acquaintances describe for me their principles. What guides them? In what do they believe? I’ve had no response.

After more contemplation, I have arrived at some conclusions and understand why those acquaintances don’t care to answer.

I believe that the modern liberal (perhaps neo-liberal as they are certainly not the classical liberals of the time of the founders) or today’s progressives if you will, are possessed of a terrible narcissism in that they believe that they know best for all of the rest of us. They know best how we should live, what we should drive, what we should eat and they certainly know best how we should spend our money. They seek to bestow the blessings of their omnipotent brilliance upon you and me.

They believe the state is superior and through the application of their brilliance, the state will take from us all that we have and then give it back as they, in their beneficence, deem appropriate. The only way to accomplish this is through control of the masses and control requires power.

That is what they believe. The end result is power and, to achieve that end, any means is justified. There is no lie too big. In their case, the end does justify the means. They are willing to proceed without restraint or conscience. The only constraint on falsehood is fear of backfire; therefore, the grievous lies told about J. Paul Brown.

To claim that Brown sought to give Western Slope water to the Denver area is absurd on its face. For crying out loud, Brown is a rancher who understands the importance of water better than most.

His efforts have been focused on storage of Front Range water, to which they already have rights, so they will quit diverting water from the Colorado River Basin.

In working on Brown campaigns, I know that he would not permit such egregious, false advertising as that which was used against him.

I also thought Barbara McLachlan was better than this. I guess she fits the progressive mold.
