This was with an article about Olga Little in the June 23, 1963, issue. The caption read: “This stylish and feminine young woman was a career woman of the first half of the 20th Century. And her career was a most unusual one. Not for her the stage - although one might think so looking at this picture - or an office. No, she was a lady packer. This is Olga Little, at about the time of her marriage and W.C. (Bill) Little in 1913, who was probably the only woman in the world to run a pack train of burros.”

100 years ago: A classified advertisement read: “Wanted – Cook, male, 15 to 25 men – Must be good on meats and baking – a cook, not a barnstormer.”

75 years ago: An advertisement read: “Expert lubrication mechanics who know your Ford and are experts in greasing any car and using proper greases for each special part of the chassis. La Plata Motors, Inc.”

50 years ago: “This year’s San Ignacio Days celebration marks not only the annual festival sponsored by St. Ignatius Catholic Church, but the golden anniversary of the incorporation of the town of Ignacio.”

25 years ago: An advertisement for The Waterbed Showcase in Durango Mall read: “Try it, you’ll like it! Guaranteed. Have you ever considered a waterbed but were afraid to tray? Buy any waterbed with waveless, mattress – try it for 30 days, and if you’re not 100% satisfied ... we’ll give you a complete refund – You can’t lose!”
