On Oct. 16, at a candidate forum in Ouray, state House District 59 candidate Paul Jones directly and deliberately misled his potential constituents.
In response to a question about soft money in the 2018 campaign, he said his campaign was not using any such funds. In fact, an organization called Unite Colorado has spent over $150,000 promoting his candidacy. This is an incredibly large amount of money.
Worse, we have no idea where this organization’s funds come from.
In September, the organization was charged with a campaign finance complaint, and the Secretary of State’s office announced, in October, that it would be looking into the matter.
Fellow voters, beware – while we won’t know the results of this investigation until after the election, one thing is clear: Paul Jones is not the independent voice he advertises himself to be.
And we don’t know for which dark forces he speaks.
