In the face of unpredictable precipitation and above-average temperatures, Mountain Studies Institute and local partners will offer a three-part forest and fire learning series from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays, Oct. 23, Oct. 30 and Nov. 6, at The Powerhouse Science Center, 1333 Camino del Rio.
The evenings will include short presentations and panel discussions with community participation. Topics will include the history of fire and forest ecology in the San Juan Mountains on Oct. 23, the ecology of post-wildfire effects Oct. 30 and resilience post-416 Fire on Nov. 6.
The community is invited to join the conversation and help inform a community approach to living with fire.
