The Bayfield and Ignacio High School girls basketball teams hit the court Friday in Durango in a scrimmage with Durango. Taylor Morris found her way through the Bobcats’ defense to get a shot over Ignacio’s Alejandra Lujan, with Courtney Bayes and Hilda Garcia trailing the play. Both the Bobcats and Woverines are looking to improve off strong postseason runs last year. BHS won a conference tournament game, and IHS made it to the regional tournament. Head coaches Shane Seibel and Bri Simbeck are returning for their second years at the helm of teams that feature several returning players that know the systems.
Durango High School and Ignacio High School found out what it was like to face different competition for the first time this season at a scrimmage Friday at DHS featuring Bayfield High School, the Bobcats and the host Demons.
