Flights canceled, roads closed with winter storm in Colorado

DENVER – A continuing winter storm in Colorado caused flight delays and cancellations at Denver International Airport and road closures in northeastern Colorado.

Greeley canceled its Lights the Night Parade on Saturday night while The Gazette in Colorado Springs emailed subscribers to advise them that the strong winds “may affect the placement or location of your Saturday newspaper” and asked them to take an extra look around before calling to report a service error.

Flight Aware listed more than 100 canceled flights and nearly 240 delayed flights at DIA by early Saturday afternoon.

Interstate 25, U.S. Highway 85 and U.S. Highway 287 were closed north of Fort Collins because of the poor conditions in Wyoming, while three major highways east of Greeley were closed because of blowing and drifting snow and poor visibility.
