The Dec. 31 Internal Revenue Service tax charitable gifting deadline looms large. Here’s a tip: Donate to a local charity, such as the La Plata Council on Aging Inc.
The Council on Aging is a non-profit public charity offering support to three local senior centers in Durango, Bayfield and Ignacio. It is headquartered at the Durango Senior Center. It’s a grass-roots nonprofit run by all volunteers and is legitimate in the eyes of the IRS to receive deductible contributions.
