Bayfield High School musicians are proud to present their 2017 holiday concert at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 14 in the Performing Arts Center. The concert will feature performances by the concert choir, select choir, and the jazz and concert bands.
The theme of "The River of Life" will incorporate several river- and water-themed pieces by all the groups, including "Shenandoah" and "Cry Me a River" by the choirs, and "Music of the Water" by the concert band. There will also be holiday themed music, and several other contemporary and classical selections.
The concert concludes with a combined choir and band piece from the 1999 Dreamworks movie, The Prince Of Egypt, when all 85 BHS musicians will perform "When You Believe."
The musicians and Derek Smith, the BHS music director, are proud to perform at dozens of sporting events throughout the year, "but we are especially pleased to present our highest musical achievements in our concerts," Smith said. "For all Wolverine fans, take a moment out of your busy holiday schedule to enjoy the BHS Music Department Holiday concert. Admission is free, and your satisfaction is guaranteed or your money back!"
