When selling the tax cut for the wealthy and corporations, Republicans – especially Mitch McConnell, Paul Ryan, and the tax-cheater in the White House – claimed it would pay for itself, and the average worker’s paycheck would increase $4,000. All lies.
Instead, nearly all the benefits go to the rich, and we’re left with the budget deficit to pay off. McConnell, last week, said the deficit was too big and entitlements need reform, because they caused the deficit increase, although it is directly attributable to the tax cuts.
The paid benefits programs – Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid – have never contributed to the deficit and have a banked surplus.
Republicans want to reduce those paid benefits for people who paid into the system, and eventually eliminate those programs.
While the Republicans were orchestrating the Supreme Court hearings, by withholding 900,000 documents about the nominee and conducting a sham investigation, the House voted for even more tax cuts for the rich and further expanding the deficit.
Ask yourself when voting if you would like to pay for more tax cuts for the wealthy and lose your paid benefits. Then ask yourself if you can believe anything Republicans say, especially the liar-in-chief. Think about all the corruption and who is leading that from the White House – protecting the Saudi crown-prince murderer because of business ties, protecting Putin who continues to trash our democracy and self-dealing from the Oval Office – unconstitutional!
Please vote, but think before you do.
