Navajo State Park invites the public to special programs this weekend.
On Saturday, July 16, a "Scoop on Poop" talk and field walk will teach visitors how to identify various animal species by examining scat, and through other methods. Meet from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Carracas Group Picnic Area.
From 4 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, learn to use beads to make an animal key chain, and also learn about different animals in southwest Colorado.
From 10 a.m. to noon on Sunday, there will be a beginning archery class for kids ages 6 and up. Meet at the amphitheater.
These programs are free with the purchase of a $7 daily pass per vehicle or an annual pass for $70. All materials and gear will be provided.
