The community is invited to participate in the National Education Association’s Read Across America Day on Monday.
Since its inception, the NEA’s Read Across America program, designed to get children excited about reading, has acted as a vehicle to talk about children’s literacy in a fun way. This year, more than 45 million readers, both young and old will gear up to deliver a message: Children who read, and who are read to, do better in school and help build great public schools.
Community members may participate by donating books to the local library or encouraging children to pick up a book and read.
