There will be free U.S. Department of Agriculture grant training opportunities on Monday, Feb. 6 and Tuesday Feb. 7 at La Plata Electric Association, 45 Stewart Street.
Training for the Rural Energy for America Program, a 25 percent grant for energy efficiency improvements to existing commercial buildings or renewable energy improvements to new or existing buildings will be from noon to 4 p.m. Monday, Feb. 6. Eligible applicants include agriculture producers and rural small businesses.Training for the Value Added Producer Grant, a 50 percent grant to develop a business plan or feasibility study or working capital for eligible “value added activities” will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7. Eligible applicants include agriculture producers and agriculture producer groups.Limited space is available and registration is required.
