Memorial Day Service to be held at cemetery

A Memorial Day service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 29 at the Allison-Tiffany Cemetery on County Road 329. Services will include music, visiting, and honoring our veterans and loved ones. Everyone is invited.

Bayfield holding economic focus group

The Town of Bayfield and Colorado Office of Economic Development and Economic Trade are inviting the public to a community assessment from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 31. The assessment will be used to support a local economic development plan.

Head Start accepting applications

The Southern Ute Montessori Head Start and Early Head Start in Ignacio is accepting applications for the 2017-2018 school year. Head Start serves children from three to five years old. Early Head Start serves pre-natal women, as well and children from six weeks to three years. Families of children with special needs and low incomes are encouraged to apply. There is no charge to qualifying families. The service area is the Ignacio School District, plus part of the Bayfield district south of U.S. Highway 160, west to County Road 509 and east to County Road 526/523. Low-income families outside the service area are considered. Call 563-4566 for more information.

Friends of the Library holding book sale

The Friends of the Pine River Library District have been saving up the cream of the crop from their donated books just for you! The Friends will be holding their annual Spring Book and Bake Sale on from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 3 in conjunction with Bayfield Yard Sale Day. There will also be delicious baked treats for sale and a silent auction of donated goods, with all proceeds supporting the library.

Music in Mountains seeks volunteers

Music in the Mountains is looking for volunteers to help out at our 2017 festival concerts in July. Positions range from ticketing, ushering, set-up, and much more.

For more information, volunteer trainings will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 1 and Monday, June 5th at 1063 Main Ave. in Durango. Light refreshments and appetizers will be provided.
