The La Plata County Democrats are hosting their annual Martin Luther King Jr. day “Soup and Soul” fundraising potluck dinner, “We have a dream” at Manna Soup Kitchen, 1100 Avenida del Sol, at 5:30 p.m. Monday.
This event is open to all nonviolent citizens wishing to show their support for equality, human rights, peace and protecting the environment.
Young Democrats will be featured, speaking about their concerns for the future as we respond to the Trump administration.
Democrat elected officials will be in attendance along with like-minded citizens.
Admission benefiting the La Plata County Democrats is $15 for adults, students $5 and children under 15 are free. A freewill offering to support Manna Soup Kitchen will be available. Please bring a dish if you wish as follows: A-M soup, stew, chili; N-S salad ; T-Z dessert.
We hope this event will be the beginning of a unified effort to defend and protect our values and quality of life from the threats of the new administration and invite all concerned individuals to join us.
