I am energized by the spirit and leadership of a slate of remarkable local candidates. Gwen Lachelt and Julie Westdendorff as county commissioners, Barbara McLachlan in the Colorado Statehouse and Gail Schwartz in the U.S. House of Representatives, will combine to lead Colorado forward wisely and responsibly.
Decades in leadership roles equip them to govern. Their experience listening and creating bipartisan strategies is what we need if we’re to get anything done. With most of us reluctant to even talk to neighbors about anything remotely political, we’ll need new bridges across our many divides and that work begins Nov. 9.
