Award-winning humorist Paula Poundstone returns to the Community Concert Hall at Fort Lewis College on Friday, Aug. 19.
Poundstone is considered one of the foremost comics working today, famous for her razor-sharp wit and spontaneity - characteristics that have made her a perfect fit as a panelist on NPR's popular weekly news quiz program, "Wait Wait.Don't Tell Me."
For her live shows, Poundstone draws upon her own complex life as well as her signature bag of neuroses. Every show is unique as she works with each audience, engaging audience members in humorous dialogue.
"People love Paula Poundstone and they always have," said Peter Sagal, host of "Wait Wait.Don't Tell Me." "The amazing thing about Paula is that she has an amazingly distinctive personality. You can see a lot of really, really great comedians, but you may walk away without a sense of who they really are.Paula comes out on stage and she starts talking about her life and then 20 minutes later you realize you're in the middle of her comedy act and didn't really know it."
Tickets for Paula Poundstone are $28 and $34 and are available online at www.durangoconcerts.com or by calling 247-7657, or at the ticket office inside the Welcome Center at Eighth Street and Main Avenue in downtown Durango.
