Barrel Horse race to be held Saturday
The National Barrel Horse Association will host a barrel race Saturday at the La Plata County Fairgrounds, 2500 Main Ave.
The 4D Jackpot Open entry fee will be $40, and the 4D Youth and Seniors entry fee will be $30. Time-only runs will start at 10:30 a.m. An open race will start at 12:30 p.m. A 2D Pole Bending Jackpot will follow with a $10 entry fee. People do not have to be a CO-08 member to participate.

Trails 2000 to host membership party
Trails 2000 members, renewing members and new members are invited to the annual membership party called “revAMPed!” from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday on the back patio at Carver Brewing Co., 1022 Main Ave.
Waiting on Trial will perform, and there will be food, beer, a bike raffle and swag. Donations to the Peter Carver Memorial Forest will be accepted.

Beekeeping seminar to be held on Saturday
A top-bar beekeeping seminar will be held from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Saturday at the Farmington Museum, 3041 E. Main St.
Beekeeper and teacher Les Crowder will lead the free seminar. Crowder is a commercial beekeeper who keeps bees solely in top-bars for their advantages.
Knitting guild to meet Saturday
The Four Corners Knitting Guild will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday at 10 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, 2917 Aspen Drive, in the Wesley Parlor.
Knitters of all skill levels are welcome.

Hikercise workshop to take place Saturday
A free Hikercise workshop will take place from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Junction Creek/Colorado Trail trailhead.
Hikercise is mobile yoga on the trail. Participants will learn a variety of upper-body movements to add to walking and/or hiking to increase stamina and overall health. Hikercise is appropriate for all fitness levels.

Driver’s education classes to be offered
Four Corners Safety Association will offer the next 30-hour driver’s education classes from June 3 to 6, 24 to 27 and Aug. 13 to 16. Classes also will be held from July 15 to 18 in Ignacio.
The cost for the class and the six hours of driving required by the state is $385.

Women Build week events to be held
Habitat for Humanity’s sixth annual National Women Build Week will take place through Saturday.
A Lowe’s how-to workshop will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday at Foxfarm Village located in Bayfield followed by the Women Build Day on Saturday. No construction skills are necessary.
