The Voice of Democracy audio-essay program provides high school students with the opportunity to express themselves in regards to a democratic and patriotic-themed recorded essay. Ninth through 12th grade students may enter to win a share of $2.1 million dollars in educational scholarships and incentives.
The national first-place winner will receive a $30,000 scholarship. Other national scholarships range from $1,000 to $16,000, and the first-place winner from each VFW Department will win a minimum of $1,000 and an all-expense paid trip to Washington, D.C, from Feb. 29 to March 4, 2020.
This year’s theme is What Makes America Great. Entries must be submitted to VFW Post No. 4031 by midnight Oct. 31.
